CURRICULUM –

The Preschool Curriculum

1. Play, songs, games and activity are the child’s natural modes of learning. This unique preschool curriculum - lots of ‘Rhyme’, lots of ‘Reason’ wrapped colourfully in a range of exciting activities. ‘Rhyme and Reason’ makes for a great preschool learning package.

2. Rhyme & Reason has been carefully designed with equal elements of art and craft, songs, hands-on activities and concepts. The curriculum introduces learning to early years learners in a playful, happy and meaningful manner – a sound basis for success later in their school life.

3. Rhyme and Reason uses a Thematic Approach. The curriculum is broken into themes and each theme is expanded as a Unit that incorporates the Various Areas of Learning. Every unit integrates various concepts and skills based on the various Areas of Learning. The curriculum provides daily lesson ideas, with interesting worksheets, film clips and other resources for the teachers to use. Children learn in large groups and small groups.

4. ‘Choice Time’ is an important component of the curriculum, where children break-out to 'learning corners' and the focus shifts from teacher-directed activities to allowing the children to choose activities according to their areas of interest. The curriculum also includes a set of varied assessment strategies teachers can use, as well as assessment forms and report cards.

5. Rhyme and Reason recognizes that we must look at the whole child and addresses the following 6 Areas of Learning and Development:
1. Communication, Language and Literacy
2. Numeracy
3. Knowledge and Understanding of the World
4. Creativity
5. Physical development
6. Personal, Social and Emotional development

The Primary & Middle School Curriculum -

1. The Foundation Years has been developed focusing on 5 core areas of learning: Math, English Language, Science and Social Studies.

2. The other areas developed are Music and Movement & Art. Both these areas will seek to integrate with the 5 core areas so that they support the core areas and become more meaningful to the learner.

3. Use of technology both by the teacher and student has been emphasized throughout the curriculum, making it a forward-looking document, preparing and developing student thinking for the world of tomorrow.

4. The curriculum aims to engage all students, while enthusing and challenging them.

5. The curriculum is aimed to equip students with a set of life skills which will help them to become what they are meant to be sensitive, caring, intelligent persons who are a credit to all who have had a hand in their upbringing.

6. The curriculum brings both the adults and students to work together on a common plane in a soothing, stimulating & interactive learning environment which is about life itself, where they become discoverers and explorers of both the inner and outer worlds.

7. The curriculum is designed in such a manner that it produces the students who know their subjects well, having absorbed every learning module with interest and not by force.

8. The curriculum gets more defined and specific as children move up the ladder.

9. The curriculum is integrative in its approach and enriching in its quality.

The Secondary School Curriculum –

The sensitive transition from primary to secondary is carefully planned so that students are ready for the more formal and structured style of learning in the secondary years. Holistic development of each child is achieved through a myriad of activities:

In addition to this each child can choose one indoor and one outdoor activity for which they are given training by specialized coaches. From Grade VIII onwards the emphasis is more toward academics and students can choose any one indoor or outdoor activity. We ensure complete integration of Academics and Activities within the program.
